February 2024 Prayer Letter

Feb 1…PRAY that God would bless Bobby’s travels this month with strength and health and wise leadership. PRAY for Linnet as she continues to recover from a fall she suffered some weeks ago.

Feb 2…PRAISE GOD for the expansion of His kingdom in 2023, as evidenced through the additional 51 first-time individual supporters, plus 9 new churches, who either began partnering with us in 2023 or have committed partnership for 2024. PRAY that 2024 will also be a fruitful year for 1) building more partners… gaining more individuals and churches to partner with HBI in prayer and support of our mission; 2) expanding our donor base and abundantly grant the raising of the necessary resources for all our projects.

Feb 3…PRAY for Craig’s travels this year and for wisdom in deciding where he needs to go to invest his time and energy. PRAY as he meets with pastors, churches and individuals …1) that God will bless these conversations and multiply the opportunities to share the HBI GP vision; 2) that God will strengthen and grow our partner relationships with churches and individuals….that God be glorified and His kingdom flourish on earth!

Feb 4…PRAISE GOD that God will bless the leadership of HBI India, HBI GP, and HBI Nepal with great vision and direction as we start a new year! May they have God’s wisdom and understanding as they make decisions and plans to reach India and beyond for Christ.

Feb 5…PRAY that the Lord would raise up more servant-hearted men to serve HBI GP partners this year: 1) a new Executive Director, as Gerry, our current Exec. Dir. is stepping down at the end of 2024…2) another person to serve along with Craig as a partner mobilizer in the US. PRAY that the Lord will help us identify teams such as these above, in new countries throughout Asia.

Feb 6… PRAY that we meet a matching fund challenge of $1.5 million and for the LORD’S provision for the entire five-million-dollars for the new Education Center.

Feb 7… PRAY that the contractors for the Center will have the right course of action to move forward on the project; PRAY for good weather and NO HINDRANCES in order that the construction would be enabled to get back on schedule…and that with God’s blessing we will see the civil part of the construction completed in 12 months!

Feb 8…PRAY for student recruitment for the upcoming academic year of 2024-2025…our goal is 100 Students. May those called of God to serve Him come and be better prepared for His work among the lost of India!

Feb 9…PRAY for the Lord’s blessing and grace toward the new Chaplain, and his family, having arrived earlier this month, as he begins to serve in the department of Spiritual Formation and Pastoral Care at HBI India.

Feb 10… PRAISE GOD for hearing our prayers to increase our number of church planters and bringing our current number of “laborers into His harvest” to 1,403. PRAY for the Lord to add another 200 to that total in 2024, as well as provide the $500,000 needed to continue the ongoing training of these church planting recruits of 2023 and 2024.

Feb 11…PRAISE GOD that 2000 churches have been established since a year ago, which brings us currently to 16,500 church plants! When churches are planted, we know that first-generation believers are coming to Christ and being discipled in the local church. PRAY that we reach 20,000 in the next few years! “And this Gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations…” Mt 24:14

Feb 12…PRAISE GOD for our donor base of 370 generous contributing individuals! PRAY for God to increase to over 400 our number of those with the desire and resources to support this ministry to reach India for Christ.

Feb 13…PRAY for our present church-planters/pastors on the frontlines who faithfully serve the Lord in 23 states….doing ministry even in the midst of difficulties. Pray for their health, protection, and courage to stand firm in the Lord that they may be “…strong and courageous” and “Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among all peoples.” 1 Chr 16:24

Feb 14…PRAY for many to hear His voice and have hearts to support the training of those who will go and make disciples in some of the most unreached regions of the world! PRAY that the Lord will provide $500,000 in 2024 to continue the ongoing training of the church planting recruits of 2023 and those to come in 2024

Feb 15…PRAY THE LORD OF THE HARVEST TO SEND LABORERS INTO HIS HARVEST” Mt 9:38 and Luke 10:2

Feb 16…PRAISE GOD that we have identified an unreached people group that has been selected to be discipled to Christ and have funds available to begin this outreach. PRAY for trained church-planters to hear God’s call for cross cultural ministry!

Feb 17… PRAISE GOD for our Regional Training Centers (RTC) established by HBI throughout the nation! This is where Church planters are trained, pastors are educated, children’s ministry is developed, local schools are built, and practical community needs are met! These “exist as a strategic hub to develop God class transformational indigenous leaders so that every man, woman, boy and girl will have an opportunity to hear, understand and respond to the gospel and be discipled to make disciples”! PRAY for the various training programs – both non-formal and informal – in all our RTCs. PRAY for God’s empowerment for our directors, staff, and teachers, and that their lives and their teaching would magnify Christ.

Feb 18…PRAY that we might identify and establish a staff team of at least 5 persons, in 3 of our currently existing RTCs. PRAISE GOD for a church partner that gave $25,000 to buy a new bus for one of our RTCs!

Feb 19…PRAY that churches in the U.S. will adopt these centers through sponsorship to ensure their success.

Feb 20…PRAY for the RTC in northeast India, working among the most unreached people group in this area of the country.

Feb 21…PRAY for this RTC and their vision to reach children for Christ through the Dr. Gupta Mission School, as they strive by the grace of God to develop in both quality of education and in administration as well. PRAY for their outreach and ministry to the 230 students (and their families) who currently attend!

Feb 22…PRAY or the Drop in Center (DIC) in this RTC where currently they are touching the lives of over 250 children by providing quality education, skill development, and character formation to poor, underprivileged, and downtrodden children. The DICs at all the RTCs are being used by the Lord to serve and transform these communities.

Feb 23…PRAY for this RTC as they seek to minister not only to children but also to the poor and unemployed women, so they will have some income to support their families. Right now we are training 15 women to make jewelry and house decorating items…along with teaching them to read and write, as well!

Feb 24…PRAY for the increasing enrollment and success in promoting children’s programs at all the RTCs. PRAY for protection for the children at our children’s ministries, and PRAY for the recruitment of reliable, committed staff and teachers. PRAY for new Child Development Centers (CDC) in various locations.

Feb 25…PRAY or the Mobilizing Woman of Church Growth (MWCG) training program,where women are given vision and training to actively serve in the mission of reaching women for Christ. By the grace of God we were able to complete training with 120 women in two of the RTCs in 2023

Feb 26…PRAISE GOD for the Church in northeast India…a multicultural, multi-linguistic congregation of God’s chosen people from many different communities. PRAY for the ministry of discipling Home boys and youth to become witnesses for Christ!

Feb 27…PRAY for the parents of these children to be drawn to the Lord as their children are ministered to through the above programs. “But Jesus called the children to him and said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.'” Luke 18:16

Feb 28…PRAY for HBI India staff and the leadership team, as well as their families, for all our board members and families, in various nations for 1) Spiritual and physical health and protection, 2) Strength and stamina to persevere, 3) Wise and fruitful use of time, and 4) Unity in serving the Lord. PRAY for HBI GP office staff to function efficiently as a team to serve the supporters of HBI. PRAY for our efforts to add additional supporters and to keep our current supporters informed. Thank you for your prayers – we feel them!
