April 2024 Prayer Letter

April 2…PRAISE THE LORD for the generous giving by our partners in the first quarter of 2024.

April 3…PRAY for the Holy Spirit’s leading for our Executive Director Gerry as he interviews candidates this week to fill the accounting and administrative positions with HBI Global Partners. PRAY for the Lord’s chosen people to come forward to fill these positions.

Apr 4…PRAY for the provision of $565,000 in 2024 to continue the ongoing training of the church planting recruits of 2023 and those being added to our number in 2024 and for the funding of the annual Pastor’s Conference. PRAY for many to hear His voice and have hearts to support the training of those who will go and make disciples in some of the most unreached regions of the world.

April 5…PRAISE THE LORD for a church in the US that has adopted one of the HBI training centers, facilitating the training of church planters and developing outreach to the local region among both children and adults, including the establishment of a community college. PRAY that all of the training centers can be adopted by churches in the U.S. Each center needs to be adopted by several churches each.

April 6 & 7…PRAY for Craig’s travels to Chicago (8^th-9^th), North Carolina (11-14^th) and California (15-20^th)

• for divine connections throughout the U.S. – that God would arrange unscheduled appointments to discover new partnerships.
• PRAY specifically for his involvement at a new church missions conference where HBI Global Partners is being presented for the first time. PRAY that the church will catch the vision.
• for doors to open with Uber drivers and people in airplanes and airports – that the seeds of the gospel would be shared and received.
• for the Lord to bless Craig’s ability to maintain rest and exercise in order to build the strength and stamina that would allow him to be able “run the course…”

April 8…PRAY. Bobby specifically asked for these prayers: “Please pray for Linnet and myself as we both are now in our 70’s. We are excited about how God is leading us now that we passed on a number of batons. We will begin a new strategy to extend HBI’s vision of saturation Church planting to other nations around us. We are trusting God to help us develop HBI in neighboring countries like we did in Nepal. Pray for an HBI Sri Lanka, HBI Singapore, HBI Indonesia.”

April 9…PRAY for the ongoing construction of the Education Center and its progress. PRAY for wisdom and skill for the supervisors and workers.

April 10…PRAY for the safety of all working on the Education Center project and for those working on the campus near the construction.

April 11…PRAY for God to bless our student recruitment for the upcoming academic year of 2024-2025…PRAY we will see at least 40 new students join the residential program and 100 more in the non-residential programs. PRAY for 200-300 students to be participating in HBI’s Education Without Boundaries online programs in 2024. May those called of God to serve Him come and be better prepared for His work among the lost!

April 12…PRAY for New Calvary Church, which is on the campus of HBI and provides a church fellowship for students as well as for people from the community. PRAY for their continued outreach and impact for Christ!

April 13…PRAY for the students graduating this year and the final weeks of this academic year. PRAY those graduating will successfully find ministry placements after graduation.

April 14…PRAY for our present church-planters/pastors on the frontlines who faithfully serve the Lord….doing ministry even in the midst of difficulties. PRAY for their health, protection, and courage to stand firm in the Lord that they may be “…strong and courageous” and “Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among all peoples.” 1 Chr 16:24

April 15…PRAY for our church-planters/pastors to be loving and faithful husbands, Godly fathers, and upright examples to the people they lead and serve.

April 16…PRAY for the upcoming elections in India, at both national and state levels.

April 17…PRAY for safe and on-time travels for our HBI GP Board members, some from the East Coast, as they travel to Los Angeles for the spring board meeting. PRAY for a good response from invitees to the partner appreciation dinner being held tomorrow. PRAY for God’s blessing on the event.

April 18…PRAY for the partner appreciation dinner in Los Angeles tonight, that those attending would gain a greater appreciation and connection with the ministry, and that hearts would be stirred to new levels of support.

April 19…THANK the Lord for our faithful board members and pray the Lord’s wisdom and leading for them as they meet today. PRAY for their return travels.

April 20… PRAY for the fundraising effort for the Education Center to bring results and generate the funds needed to complete the project. PRAY that we meet a matching fund challenge of $1.5 million and for the LORD’S provision for the entire five-million-dollars for the new Education Center.

April 21…PRAY that God will keep the doors open for funds to keep flowing into HBI.

April 22…PRAY for the search for 1-3 additional mobilizers for HBI Global Partners in the U.S. to work with Craig, Director of National Mobilization. These leaders would serve the local church in the U.S., developing relationships and mobilizing partnerships with HBI to fulfill the great commission in India and beyond.

April 23…PRAY that God will bless the leadership of HBI India, HBI GP, and HBI Nepal with great vision and direction throughout the year. May they have God’s wisdom and understanding as they make decisions and plans to reach India and beyond for Christ.

April 24…PRAY for the village church planters, often beginning with little formal education, to be drawn to opportunities to take advantage of the formal courses offered at the RTCs or online, thereby gaining knowledge that can help to build transformational leaders with solid theology to greatly impact the church planting process!

April 25…PRAY for trained church-planters to hear God’s call for cross cultural ministry! These men are essential to our reaching out to unreached people groups. HBI has identified an unreached people group to be discipled to Christ and we have funds available to begin this outreach, but we need men willing to go into this area.

April 26…PRAY for the Regional Training Center in northeast India and their vision to reach children through the Dr. Gupta School, as they strive by the grace of God, to develop in both quality of education and in administration as well. PRAY for their outreach and ministry to the 230 students (and their families) who currently attend! PRAY also for the construction currently going on at the Dr Gupta School…for safety and good progress.

April 27…PRAY for the Drop in Center (DIC) run by this RTC, held in the slums, where currently they are touching the lives of children by providing quality education, skill development and character formation to poor, underprivileged and downtrodden children.

April 28…PRAY for the various training programs – both non-formal and informal – in all our Regional Training Centers. PRAY for God’s empowerment for our directors, staff, and teachers, and that their lives and their teaching would magnify Christ. PRAY that we might identify and establish a full team of at least 5 staff persons, in three of our currently existing RTCs.

April 29…PRAY for HBI India staff and the leadership team, as well as their families, for all our board members and families, in various nations for 1) spiritual and physical health and protection, 2) Strength and stamina to persevere, 3) Wise and fruitful use of time, and 4) Unity in serving the Lord. PRAY for HBI GP office staff to function efficiently as a team to serve the supporters of HBI. PRAY for our efforts to add additional supporters and to keep our current supporters informed. Thank you for your prayers – we feel them!

April 30…PRAISE GOD that 2000 churches have been established since a year ago, which brings us currently to 16,500 church plants! When churches are planted, we know that first generation believers are coming to Christ and being discipled in the local church. PRAY that we reach 20,000 in the next few years! “And this Gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations…” Mt 24:14
