Because of the huge need for medical care in many parts of India, we hold medical camps offering general medicine and wellness teaching. Services are provided by local doctors and nurses, sometimes partnering with short-term teams. We share the gospel and pray with people. This outreach builds trust with community leaders and allows a church planter to follow up. If you have medical training, or would simply be willing to pray with people, we can use you.
HBI responds to disasters of all kinds, including the catastrophic tsunami of 2004, the Nepal earthquake of 2015, and the 2017 flood that inundated much of Chennai.
As a result, God has opened doors for us to provide relief, trauma counseling, and the rebuilding of homes. In Nepal, these open doors not only allowed us to partner with a church planting movement, but also has resulted in the establishment of a partner ministry called Hope Builders International (HBI) Nepal.
